Interim Head of Financial Reporting
Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire our well-respected retail client is seeking an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant to join their team as Interim Head of Financial Reporting on a 6-month fixed term contract.
This job would suit an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge to be responsible for managing a team of 15 (with 3 direct reports) supporting the rest of the business with key financial information.
This company are a fast-growing multi-site retailer with sites nationwide and plans to expand considerably over the coming years with PE backing. The business is currently developing all areas of the business from systems to financial accounting/ reporting (this role) and commercial finance.
The successful individual will be a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong financial accounting and/or financial reporting knowledge but also with good people management skills. This person will be expected to bring natural enthusiasm and energy to the business whilst getting involved with improvement projects and team development. They will have excellent communication and networking skills, with an exceptional eye for detail. Resilience under pressure and the ability to solve problems independently is important for this role.
Job responsibilities:
Full management of the Financial Accounting and Reporting functions including line management of the full teamPreparation and production of the Board pack and group accountsResponsibility for the Balance Sheet analysis and reportingProduction of full statutory accounts and liaison with the auditors fulfilling all queriesManagement of the Internal Audit processesInvolvement with numerous ad hoc finance projects
