GiBe Finance are delighted to be supporting a GBP125m t/o group of businesses, recruiting an Interim Payroll Manager on a 6–12 month contract.

The role has two phases:

1. Understand the existing process and execute quick wins

2. Insource the payroll function, removing the outsourced payroll bureau

The role offers remote working (2 days per month in West London) and is paying GBP350–450 p/d.

The Role

Phase 1

  • Work with current outsourced payroll bureau to understand the existing process:
    – How is it being done
    – What is working
    – What isn't working
  • Improve the current process to ensure quick wins and accurate timely payroll for all employees
  • Collate data from the business to pass to the bureau for processing
  • Check the work of the bureau for approval
  • Be the go–to resource for all payroll queries from internal staff and the payroll bureau

Phase 2

  • Insource the Payroll department
  • Define processes, procedures and controls for a well–run Payroll function
  • Decide on systems to be used (currently iTrent) and manage any necessary implementations
  • Support in the resourcing of the new Payroll team (likely sole Payroll Manager, potentially + 1 Payroll Administrator)
    *this role has the potential to go temp to perm if felt it is the right move long–term
  • Handover to the new Payroll Manager or continue the day to day position

Your Profile

  • Experienced Payroll Manager having worked on a variety of projects
  • Strong communicator – written & verbally
  • Knowledge of iTrent beneficial, not essential
  • Experience of having worked in house and within a bureau is beneficial, not essential
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
