Senior Business Analyst
London
6 Month Contract, Inside IR35
My high–profile banking client are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their team working on the next generation of B2B focused payment solutions in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Definition and elicitation of objectives, scope, and outcomes within regulatory and industry standards – this could include analysis of marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services, etc.
- Defining the solution by working with Solution Consultants, Business Operations, Line of Business, 3rd parties and Architects, and other parties where required (e.g., regulatory and compliance to ensure regulatory changes are considered)
- Analysis of business and customer needs, documentation of requirements, business processes, KPIs/metrics and translation into proper business, procedural, system requirement specifications to inform the initiative business case
- Analysis and documentation of business processes and metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, formulating, and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact–finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
- Evaluating costs and benefits of alternative actions/solutions to establish their viability and ROI
- Working with the program and project to baseline the scope and impact assess any changes required
- Devising and/or modifying procedures to solve complex problems considering business and infrastructure needs
- Writing project context documentation (such as Business Design)
- Educating internal employees and/or external clients on changes, new systems and procedures
- Work with test management team to elicit the right tests to satisfy the requirements and overall objectives
- Continuously evaluate how things are done and re–engineer processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency within cost and quality timeframes
- Work with production management to ensure the health of the product/service and prioritise the work and any backlog of future developments
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
Qualities:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or another analytical field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and corporate payments specifically
- Knowledge of end–to–end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
- Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design–based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
- Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non–technical audiences at various levels in the organization
- Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
- Excellent analytical, decision–making, problem–solving, team, and time management skills
- Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
- Is resourceful in gathering information and sharing ideas
- Inquisitive, proactive, and energised to make a difference
Desirable:
- Knowledge of products and services
- Experience with B2B payments products
- Issuing and/or acquiring experience
- Working knowledge of test processes, SIT and UAT and can support testing where required
