The Role:
The Head of Retail Experimentation is accountable for the full end to end success of retail experiment project/s, as well as the shaping and delivery of the overall Retail Experiment proposition. This includes line managing a core team directly, delivering the set up and operation of the store/s and interfacing with customer teams to ensure project success, as well as indirectly working with the wider Retail team to ensure day to day operations, staffing, stock and logistics are delivered to industry–leading standards at all times.
All about you:
- A conceptual leader, able to enhance our collective understanding of experimentation methodology and thinking, and translate it into practical operations
- A visionary, able to self–direct a plan for how to grow our Agile Retail offer, the resources you need to do so, and the drive to deliver it
- An expert project manager, and have a proven background managing and delivering high–pace, complex projects, preferably in a retail setting
- Solid general understanding of what it takes to effectively 'retail' in stores – from understanding employees and people, through to logistics and supply chain processes, through to property and leases •
- Data and insight obsessed, demonstrably able to interpret complex information from a variety of sources into meaningful insight
- You will likely have worked at management consultant or strategy level within a large blue chip organisation.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Management of the project plan and project lifecycle of experimental retail stores, ultimately accountable for ensuring that things get done when we say they'll get done. This includes appropriate use of standard project management methodologies and governance forums, including workstream management, steering groups and reviews.
- Develop and demonstrate an industry leading position in 'experimental retail', helping us articulate the process, benefits and results in an Agile Retail approach. • Demonstrate a sound and expert knowledge in agile retail practices, in particular short term and flexible retailing, QSR food service, retail staffing and supply chain processes
- Develop, embed and iterate novel and innovative analytics and insights techniques, using store performance and customer feedback to develop insights and learnings that add value
- Show leadership in the collation, presentation and actions derived from trading agile retail stores Treat Every
- Manage the financial performance of your Project/Client, ensuring target revenue and profit is delivered and controlling costs effectively
- Constantly seek new opportunities with your customer to expand scope / work / revenue
- Manage your agile retail stores as if they were your business, demonstrably rooting out costs and operating as lean a model as possible
