Head of 111 Contract

NHS 111 Co–ordinating Commissioning Team providing specialist commissioning expertise on behalf of the CCGs in the East Midlands covered by the current contract.

The team is responsible for all aspects of NHS111 commissioning, contracting and assuring the delivery of services provided for the five county areas

The team operates at both a local (county) and strategic (East Midlands) level dependent on the input required. The team provides full contract and performance management functions and are responsible for developing and maintaining specialist knowledge areas that can be applied at the East Midlands level, but there may be a requirement to support the development of more locally focussed models of integrated urgent care.

Location: Currently home based

Hours: Four days per week (possibility of full time)

Initial term: Until the end of March 2022

Interviews will be by Microsoft Teams

Salary: GBP36.43 per hour (Umbrella) or GBP31.71 per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)

KEY ROLES OF THE POST HOLDER

As one of the senior post holders within the Co–ordinating Commissioning Team a significant part of the post holder's role will be to act as the main conduit between the local CCGs at a county level, the NHS111 provider, the Regulators and other members of the team.

The post holder will focus on all contractual, performance and operational aspects of delivery for the services and support CCGs in ensuring the Providers services are responsive and effective within their areas.

It is expected that the post holder will take a lead role for specific specialist elements of the overall contract and performance management arrangements based on their background and subject matter expertise.

??????????????????????????????????JOB SUMMARY AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the commissioning and contract management of the NHS111 service for the region as part of the co–ordinating commissioner

  • Work and liaise with other NHS111 commissioners across the region to ensure a collaborative approach to developments
  • The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service development
  • The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery;
  • The post holder will need to exercise judgement when dealing with senior managers, staff representatives, service receivers, their advocates and external contacts;
  • The post holder will be expected to work autonomously on day to day tasks with minimal supervision and to prioritise incoming work and as appropriate allocating responsibility of response to the appropriate member of staff using own initiative;
  • Work effectively, balancing competing demands whilst maintaining the ability to deal competently with management at all levels of the organisation and to be able to work calmly and efficiently in a busy and pressurised environment;
  • The post holder will be required to work flexibly in terms of the hours of the working day and have the ability to travel to ensure the needs of the counties are met;
