Head of Marketing (Acquisition & Growth)

Salary: Up to GBP95k

Remote working (must be flexible on travel when required)

Financial services experience would be beneficial

Our client are on the lookout for a Head of Marketing (Acquisition & Growth) to play a key part in their organisation. This role would suit someone who has experience in a senior marketing role and looking to take the next step to a key/senior role.

The role:

As the Head of Marketing (Acquisition & Growth), you will be responsible for leading the execution and strategy of all customer facing campaigns across the organization's life cycles including acquisition, engagement, retention an reactivation and you will utilise multiple channel sources.

You will manage 4 direct reports and an overall team of 11 and work closely with areas of the business including commercial, data and digital marketing to ensure all strategies deliver key customer metrics.

What you need to do:

  • Provide direction and leadership for the development of lifecycle campaigns steering the team and agencies to develop strong and successful activation plans
  • Strategically develop and evolve a go to market set of campaigns covering acquisition, engagement and retention
  • Manage, motivate and develop a high performing team to ensure delivery of the marketing communications plan to agreed objectives, budgets and timescales. Troubleshoot issues to avoid delay impacting timelines
  • Lead the translation of the strategy and plan into compelling, successful go to market plans which deliver cut–through, deliver clarity of message and desired customer outcomes
  • Innovate and understand developments in technology and communication channels to identify opportunities to develop our paid, owned and earned media activity
  • Oversee the management of the go to market comms budget cGBP35m. Review expenditure against plan to ensure individual budgets are up to date and in line with plan and the Bank's forecasts
  • Responsible for post campaign implementation reviews of all campaigns and ensuring learning is embedded into the marketing team

What you need to know and show:

  • Extensive senior marketing experience
  • Proven stakeholder management skills at management and executive level
  • Strong awareness of the control environment within a financial services organisation
  • Having a strong awareness and understanding of conduct risk
  • Analytical ability to understand customer targets and channel choice, evaluating all options to pursue the most cost–effective and profitable return on investment
  • Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory issues associated with financial services promotions
  • Excellent strategic thinking and critical analysis skills
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills – able to challenge effectively, provoke new thinking, and drive progress and change throughout the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, with proven understanding of the value of research and understanding customer needs and expectations
  • Proven leader and relationship manager across teams and in a matrix management organisation
  • Project management skills in complex multi–functional project

Decision Making authority:

  • Responsibility of a GBP3m budget for the delivery of direct marketing plans
  • Sign off on purchase orders up to the value of GBP50k
  • Make strategic recommendations and decisions based on investment of strategic initiatives
  • Ensure budget delivers to the P&L requirements by working closely with the Head of Planning
