A Head of Testing & Delivery Assurance required on behalf of a client in the public sector. This will be a FTC until 2023. There will be some travel involved.

This role sits within the Delivery, Implementation and Transition team. The Delivery, Implementation and Transition workstream plays an integral role in the delivery of the implementation of the new scheme and the transition into these new services from the current solution.

The workstream consists of the following teams:

  • Delivery Assurance – assuring the delivery of the new scheme services through a review of the Supplier's Quality Assurance and related activities.
  • Programme Delivery – overseeing, and reporting on, the Supplier implementation and transition programme plans and coordinating the client's activities within the plans.
  • Migration/Transition business expertise – providing business specific expertise for transition related activities including data migration, operational and communication specific deliverables.

The Delivery Assurance team is responsible for ensuring suppliers deliver appropriate solutions that meet the client's requirements, including both functional and non–functional requirements.

This role will manage the Delivery Assurance team and requires an experienced programme test manager. They will be the central point for quality delivery across a large programme, leading various testing functions and managing the supplier delivery assurance plan.

Requirements

  • A strong test management background with experience of delivering quality through proficient testing in large, complex projects involving external suppliers in an onshore / offshore environment.
  • The management through effective collaboration with multiple suppliers of several release test phases operating in parallel.
  • Experience of leading a testing team (15+ full time employees) for the delivery of a major platform including:
  1. conducting Functional, Non–functional, Data migration, Service transition and Operational acceptance testing for e–commerce projects.
  2. performance testing in a high online/batch volume environment (millions of on–line users, millions of batch transactions).
  • Experience in working within a structured environment using test management methodologies and quality management systems defining and developing robust testing artefacts (e.g. strategy, plans, approach), on large and complex testing programmes.
  • Experience in working at senior management level and able to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders including suppliers, commercial, operational, product development and Programme Management Office teams.
  • Experienced in project management fundamentals working in both waterfall and agile delivery methods.
  • Experience of industry recognised

  • Test planning and administration tools (eg. HPQC, JIRA)
  • Experienced at providing timely testing metrics and data points to key project stakeholders in support of informed decision–making processes.
