My Talent Hub is currently recruiting on a retained basis for an Operations Director to join one of its established and growing clients based at their head office in Grantham within the Logistics / Road Transport industry.

As the Operations Director, you will lead, coach and manage an established management team. The business is well respected by its customers and within its market sector.

Role Scope:

Reporting into the MD, the Operations Director has overall accountability for the performance of the operation and leading the Management team to deliver results. The final candidate will act as the Operations Director with an 80 employee responsibility, with 9 direct reports in a 13M rev business. This role in the business is to provide strategic functional expertise and clear, collaborative leadership across the operation, be accountable for profitable, efficient, and faultless delivery to customers.

The role requires strong control of the costs and maximising profitability by motivating, leading, inspiring and developing the team to consistently deliver the highest standards of safety, quality and service. The candidate will work with the MD to apply strategic direction and collaborative leadership towards fulfilling the company objectives, whilst also implementing and maintaining vision, mission and aims, whilst promoting innovation, best practice, cultural change and efficiencies across the business.

Lead the business to maintain and further develop as the partner of choice for their customers, whilst always maintaining their solid reputation built upon sound ethical business values, customer centricity and people–focused culture that values ownership and engagement. The ideal candidate will have worked for an SME business in the past, but this is not essential.
