Job purpose:
In this exciting role you will work closely with managers to deliver an exceptional HR service ensuring the organisation is a great place to work. Taking a proactive approach to really understand business challenges and working in collaboration with managers to influence and resolve them is vital to success and we're looking for an experienced Generalist HR Consultant with experience in OD to take on the role. With a commercial outlook, your extensive experience and knowledge of employment legislation, leadership and management, managing conflict and strategic organisational objectives will be required alongside a customer focused, consultative, flexible and influential approach to stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Consultant works as an integral part of the HR and Line of Business Senior Management Teams. Responsibilities include:

  • To engage with and influence at a strategic level to support the lines of business to achieve their long-term strategy.
  • Be a trusted partner to the business, providing coaching and feedback to senior leaders.
  • Influence and collaborate with HR colleagues in our parent and sister companies on key group wide initiatives and projects.
  • Identifying HR priorities from corporate and departmental plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices and delivering people solutions aligned to business objectives.
  • Play an active role in defining and delivering the organisational people strategy.
  • To lead and advise the business on organisational development and design tools and techniques to shape the business target operating models and approach.
  • Work closely with resourcing and recruitment teams on talent acquisition and mapping requirements for future resource capabilities.
  • Design and deliver key HR initiatives across the HR remit, including organisational change, employee relations, performance management, HR analytics and TUPE
  • Working in partnership with Senior managers on creating a learning culture, to develop future capabilities, talent management and succession planning
  • To lead the employee engagement agenda with your lines of business taking an active role in the engagement networks, Great Place to Work initiatives, and internal communications
  • To drive the HR agenda forward by identifying opportunities for continuous improvements and development
  • Providing advice and guidance to Senior Management Teams and managers on employment matters; influencing

Person Specification

  • Strong partnership and relationship building skills
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
