We're looking for an additional member for the team, a Technical Business Analyst to join them on a permanent basis. This role is site based at any of their UK bases, either – Manchester, Dagenham, Peterborough Leicester, Bristol, Tewkesbury, Lancing, Edinburgh, Livingston, Sunderland and Nottingham
The Job
To work closely with Technology Subject Matter Experts to determine business, functional and non–functional requirements and then translate such into specifications for IT projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs and create fully documented Requirements Specifications within the agreed timeline
- Help the allocated project(s) meet schedule and technical objectives
- Provide assistance to SME's in planning, analysis and execution of plans
- Focus on change in the area of systems and technology and associated processes and elicit requirements from stakeholders to achieve functional and non–functional requirements
- Facilitate, model, and organize information in order to define solution requirements
- Manage reviews with key stakeholders to achieve formal agreement of the requirements; perform MOSCOW or similar methodology to prioritise requirements and focus attention on key business needs
- Document requirements in suitable format, such as matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, story points etc.
- Collaborate closely with developers/engineers and Project Managers to implement a solution that adequately meets the requirements
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and Technology to gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations
- Negotiate with both internal and external customers in relation to need vs solution
- Identify, manage and resolve conflicts with the project scope, and between requirements and stakeholders, both internal and external
- Identify and raise risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions within projects, programmes and across portfolios of work
- Map 'as is' and 'to be' processes and identify areas of improvement
- Provide advice and support through the project lifecycle to stakeholders and the project team
- Consider continuous improvement of business analysis capabilities within Technology by identifying and recommending improvements to the Business Analysis methodology
Skills
- Excellent analytical skills including a range of techniques to interpret information
- Ability to listen, understand and interpret
- Ability to present information in ways that target audiences can easily identify and understand
- Ability to alter approach to requirements gathering/presentation to suit the intended audience
- Requirement elicitation via a range of methods
- Prioritise requirements and negotiate 'best fit' business solutions
- Business & IT awareness, and an ability to facilitate interactions between business and IT representatives
- Production of high–quality documentation suitable for a variety of audiences
- Presentation of findings and proposals to business representatives
- Ability to build relationships with people at all levels within the business and client and supplier organisations
- Ability to create basic project plans and executive summary status reports for business analysis activity.
Requirements:
- Experience – minimum 4 years within a Technical Business Analysis role in a technology delivery environment
- BA / Technical BA professional accreditations desirable
- Willing to travel across the UK to company and client sites as required
