Location – The Portland Hospital, Great Portland Street, London

Permanent, Full time, 40 hours/week, 0800 – 1700. On call will be required 1 in 4 weeks where shift will be 1000 – 1900

Salary – Up to GBP43,000 per annum + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)

About the Role

There is an exciting opportunity for a Chief Engineer to join The Portland Hospital. This role is crucial in ensuring that engineering/maintenance services are delivered to the highest possible standards and meet the requirements of the hospital.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • To Instruct others in department on various aspect of his / her trade
  • To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules in line with departmental goals and objectives and have experience in building services
  • To install service test, diagnosis, repair & calibrate advanced installations, plant & equipment. Deal with situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to other
  • To assist other members of the maintenance team
  • Maintain a high standard of service, always adhering to health & safety practices
  • Being able to recognise and prevent risk to self and others

Skills & Experience

  • Training in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds/NVQ
  • Experience professional qualified multi skilled mechanical electrical engineer
  • Extensive relevant experience in similar organisation
  • Previous supervisory experience in a relevant role
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
