A quick look at the role.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and strategically minded new business development professional to join our successful Major Sales team.

Due to a sustained period of growth the Major Sales function has recently undergone a restructure which has been specifically designed to deliver one single national sales strategy. The primary objective will be to deliver increased profitable regional revenue in line with company budgets.

As this is a brand–new role within the business and we have openings for 4 Senior Development Managers within the below areas:

Northeast & Scotland
Northwest & Midlands
Southwest
SoutheastThis role will be full of variety and interesting challenges. The Senior Development Manager will have:

Focused on delivering their own individual sales target
Shared accountability for exceeding their areas budgeted revenue target
They will hold line management responsibilities for a small team of Major BDM's Whilst exceeding their personal revenue targets the Senior Development Manager will support in the delivery and implementation of the national sales strategy, ensuring all plans are accurately and effectively communicated with regional teams and actioned with precision.

You will need be driven by the accountability for your own success with have a passion for people as part of this role will involve the development and coaching of others to create a winning dynamic.

This is a new and exciting role that will best suit individuals looking to progress their career, develop their commercial skills, deliver an individual revenue target, be part of a dynamic and driven commercial team and take their first steps into a supported management position.

Achievement of personal revenue target in line with group budgets.
Support a team of regional BDM's to achieve area revenue and profit targets based on a team related annual budget.
Alongside the Head of Major Sales support team members ensuring each BDM has a clear development plan and stretching targets.
Support in the development and delivery of regional sales strategies to ensure optimum exposure to key potential prospects.
Lead area collaboration with existing operational and account management teams to deliver annual budgets.
Create and present tailored commercial offerings and business plans to internal and external stakeholders.
Actively support and successfully manage the sales process, through lead generation, sales presentations, proposal solutions, negotiation, close, and handover to the operations team.
Attend Regional Meetings to keep up to date with existing contracts, identify development opportunities and develop good working relationships with peers in other divisions.
Manage sales prospects (client average order values circa GBP300k) with a minimum overall sales pipeline value of GBP8.0m to GBP12.m.Requirements

Here's what we require:

Education to Degree level or similar
Demonstrate success in securing large regional contracts (circa value GBP500k – GBP1.0m)
Solid understanding of the overall commercial procurement process
Management of full end to end tendering process
Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work occasional unsociable hours and be flexible to deadline
Contribution to wider projects across the business
Demonstrable understanding of financial models
Diligent with a good attention to detail
Excellent written communication skills and a high level of numeracy skills
Able to evaluate and provide guidance based on data gathering
Ability to deliver business insights, trends, and recommendations for respective regions
Excellent inter–personal skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels (both internal and external)
Wider knowledge of current and future legislation and their impacts
