Legal & General Retirement (LGR) provides retirement solutions to over one million customers. The retail business helps customers turn their pension savings into lifelong retirement income.
LGR are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their Enduring team to assist on an ongoing project within Pension Tracing and Consolidation.
The role holder will be involved with the agile delivery of digital change within the web journey of LDR's customers, and as such we are looking for someone with experience in agile projects and changes in the online space and operational processes.
Principal Accountabilities:
Thoroughly investigates the existing business situation to determine the extent of the business problem. Documents the problem, defining how the problem is impacting the delivery of business strategy. Makes sure the problem is articulated in terms of business value.
Complete gap analysis on the existing business model versus the desired business model.
Leads the requirements elicitation process on projects, covering business requirements, technical requirements, and IT operational run requirements. Plans and execute all business analysis activity, eliciting requirements from stakeholders and requirements documentation.
Documents requirements using a variety of methods most pertinent to the audience. These could include but not limited to user stories, use cases, user journeys and requirements cataloguing.
Conducts requirements validation with stakeholders, gain appropriate approvals, and manage the change processes for requirements documentation.
Ensures that there is clear requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Critically reviews and evaluates any proposed solutions identifying alignment with business making recommendations to key stakeholders ensuring they are fully aware of key risks and assumptions.
Continually evaluates the quality of all deliverables, including those of 3rd parties, to ensure the end product is fit for purpose and are acceptable to all stakeholders.
Takes responsibility for the delivery of work packages allocated to less experienced staff, coaching and motivating them to deliver to the required standards.
Ensures that appropriate prioritising, planning, resourcing and contingency for customer issues are integrated into programme and resource plans so they are central to delivery.
Demonstrates flexibility and mobility to support changing customer needs and new ways of working (including Agile development model, LEAN).
Understands the principles of Business Transformation and is able to translate these principles into business/people change activities and project outcomes.
Requirements:
At least 3–5 years' experience as a Business Analyst within similar projects, ideally within Enduring teams.
Must have experience within digital transformation, specifically relating to changes in online space. Proven track record of delivering IT operational change is vital. Understand the principles of IT Service Management and how IT Service Management is designed and transitioned into operations.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the architecture layers associated with delivery of IT Services, including business, data, infrastructure and application.
Must have experience working within agile project delivery.
Operational understanding of multi–federated IT operational models, including the opportunities and challenges of different service integrator models.
Must come from a financial services background.
Background in Pensions, Annuities, Asset & Liability Management and / or Investments and understanding of the products, regulations and the UK Pensions market would be advantageous.
Outstanding business analysis experience required and proven delivery track record of change / transformation.
Adaptable and creative approach to business analysis.
Excellent communications, interpersonal and presentation skills in order to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to self–manage and work in a dynamic environment.
Strong collaboration skills including working with Project Managers and Test Managers / Analysts.
The willingness to embrace new technologies and influence other parts of the business to adopt.
Additional Information
Initially a temporary contract for 26 weeks, with a view to extend for the right candidate, subject to project requirements.
Day rate of up to GBP550 (dependent on experience, inside of IR35 and uplifted rate will apply if going via an Umbrella company).
This will be a hybrid role with time split between working both from home and the L&G office (Cardiff preferred but Hove also considered)
