Consistently rated amongst the world's best universities, Imperial College London is a science–based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. Imperial has one of the largest and most diverse university estate portfolios in the country, with over 500,000 sq.m of space predominately in Central and West London, and further operational, commercial and investment property interests elsewhere in the UK. The varied portfolio includes state of the art research facilities, a broad variety of teaching and learning spaces, student and private residences, sports and recreational facilities and commercial accommodation (including retail, office and land).
Reporting to the Director of Estates Operations the Head of Property is responsible for leading the property and asset management of the College's core estate and non–core (i.e. investment) portfolio, ensuring that the requirements of both the landlord and tenant are met. This will involve driving income and value across the notable estate portfolio by way of innovative and proactive asset management initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Surveyor with proven experience of leading estate surveying duties across a portfolio of significant scale and complexity, either in a client side or advisory capacity. You will have demonstrable expertise in landlord/tenant relationships with a proven track record of negotiating and working with professional consultants. The Head of Property will work closely with the Director of Estates Operations to identify strategic development opportunity throughout the College's land and property interests.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential due to the highly influential nature of the role. A commercial approach is also required to ensure the very best return from the portfolio.
The Head of Property appointment offers the opportunity to be directly responsible for leading a high–profile property portfolio on behalf of a globally renowned higher education institution.
Imperial Managers lead by example.
