Position: Employment and Skills Programme Manager
Location: Totnes, Devon
Salary: up to GBP45,000 per annum + car allowance
Role: Permanent

Our client is an established charity with an excellent track record in supporting young people and adults with a range of mental health needs and disabilities – which include learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury, sensory impairments, and dementia.

The Employment and Skills Programme Manager will support the building of external partnerships with a range of external stakeholders including Local Authorities, DWP and other statutory, and voluntary sector partners.

You will have responsibility for overseeing and managing a range of internships, traineeships and employment opportunities whilst implementing effective monitoring processes, to review success and make strategic and operational improvements.

The Employment and Skills Programme Manager will have overall responsibility for relevant stakeholder management, whilst providing effective leadership to staff to achieve employment outcomes for people with autism or learning disabilities.

This is a brand–new role that will be as varied as it will be rewarding, if successful you can expect to:

Identify and secure opportunities to develop the organisations provision
Ensure that the success and progress of training and placements is monitored
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Provide leadership and guidance to the wider employment and education team
Ensure that placements and training meet the needs of the people we support
Assist in the securing and maintaining of opportunities
Look to expand provision across the Southwest
Provide strategic oversight to the work

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for maximising the opportunities available to the people we support; the people they support are at the centre of everything we do and it's critical you reflect that ethos. To be considered for the post you must have:

* Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering employability, and training programmes preferably within a community context

* Experience of leading a team

* The vision to work across organisations to develop coherent and ambitious delivery plans

* Previous experience of working with people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and autism

* Excellent working knowledge of Supported Employment models

* Detailed working knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by young people with SEND/other vulnerable people in accessing employment and a range of models/approaches to address this

* Knowledge of the local employment market and employer needs

* Experience of developing supported internships through liaison with relevant stakeholders

* Experience with tendors

Pay and benefits

* GBP45,000 per annum
