A leading central Brighton firm seeking to appoint a key hire in the form of an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to take on a long-established book of clients and eventually take on the Head of Department role.
The Firm
The firm are well known central Brighton Legal 500 practice providing a broad range of legal services to both private and commercial clients. They could be described as entrepreneurial in their outlook and advise in several niche areas of law which includes some international work too.
The Commercial Property team advise on a wide variety of commercial issues for a broad range of buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, developers and funders. The department in Brighton is seeking to appoint an experienced Commercial Property solicitor in what is a very busy and successful team. There exists a very strong book of client names built up over many years from around the region. You would be expected to take on a great deal of this work and continue with the high levels of service the clients have become accustomed to.
The role
You would be working with the Head of Commercial Property who is based in Brighton as well as providing support to a second team in London as and when required. Your caseload would cover a broad range of commercial property work including Freehold purchase and sale of commercial and business premises, site acquisitions, disposals and development, retail, leisure, factory office and residential including overage agreements, leases and renewals, for landlords and tenants, portfolio management and property investments, finance, rent reviews, licences as well as Landlord & Tenant law which includes including Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
Suitability
Naturally you will consider yourself a highly competent commercial property solicitor able to comfortably manage your own caseload and technically very adept across a good range of commercial property matters. The firm are looking for a confident individual with ambition who is able manage existing client relationships, business develop new clients and generally have a good track record in building and developing a caseload of commercial property work. Candidates who have previously led a team or currently head up a department are of particular interest as would be anyone who is seeking a partnership role. This is a key hire for the firm, and they are keen to appoint the right individual who has a long-term commitment in mind.
