What does the role involve? What are the key responsibilities?
Minimum
We're a signatory to the Government's Disability Confident scheme. What does the role involve? What are the key responsibilities?
- You will define and continually improve a flexible project delivery approach
- You will drive delivery across approx. 10 small data science projects and maintain visibility, momentum and consistency across the whole portfolio
- You will ensure effective communication and collaboration in delivery teams. For example: chairing and facilitating regular demos, retrospectives and stand-ups
- You will proactively manage dependencies, overcome obstacles and get the best value against constraints
- You will coach, manage and develop one direct report
- You will collaborate with colleagues in the transformation team (including, pipeline development, visual design and change management) and the wider team of data scientists and engineers
- Deliver stimulating, innovative and experimental work to solve the biggest challenges facing financial regulation and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the organisation
- Exposure to new ideas, opportunity to increase your knowledge and understanding of new technologies
- Work with a dynamic and diverse team of colleagues who are passionate about their work and believe in open collaboration
- Work in the public interest which: helps to change our approach to regulation; makes us more effective at protecting 40 million UK consumers; secures long term economic growth by promoting an industry that represents 12% of UK economic output

- Experience in the role of scrum master with strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and the ability to apply them adaptively.
- Experience in project and portfolio management
- Experience facilitating and chairing meetings and difficult discussions to solve problems and encourage communication sharing.
- Ability to understand and articulate problems and blockers and help delivery teams resolve them
- Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders at multiple levels to help drive delivery.
- Able to identify gaps or challenges in processes and approaches and drive improvements.
- Experience supporting multiple deliveries at once.
- Ability to adapt to and thrive in changing and ambiguous environments
- Experience in delivering data science and analytics projects
- Experience managing, coaching and inspiring junior team members

- This role is graded Senior Associate (REG C)
- The salary range will be approximately GBP46,000 to GBP65,000 GBP plus a competitive benefits package and non-contributory pension
- Applications for this role close on 16th January 2022
- We are currently consulting with colleagues about changes to our grading, pay structure and benefits. We're proposing a move to a more consistent and simpler approach that supports our changing role, accelerates career development, and better incentivises strong performance
- The proposed changes will also ensure that we are able to continue to offer one of the best employment packages of any regulator or enforcement agency in the UK.
- The consultation opened on 21 September and finishes on 20 December 2021. We will finalise the changes in February ahead of implementing from 1 April 2022. Those joining before 20 December will be able to participate in the consultation.
