About the role:

Provide leadership and direction for the Product Planning team to support the achievement of the company business objectives. In particular managing the team to develop effective product launch and lifecycle management plans to maximise sales and profitability. Act as an ambassador for the business within and beyond the company, developing effective working relationships and collaboration with other teams and business partners. Support innovation and improvement, and manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring timely approvals and clear communications with all stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage short, medium and long term product planning. Manage the launch planning process and communication of all product changes within the company and lead launch plan discussions with Europe.
  • Manage the pricing and profitability of each model range, optimising price positioning and recommending adjustments to senior management.
  • Represent the business at product meetings and Contribute to new model development programmes through close liaison with Europe
  • Ensure close alignment with Programmes team to track margin profit achievement versus target.
  • Contribute to product marketing campaign briefs defining content and identifying product USPs/KSPs.
  • Manage central systems required to upkeep accurate pricing and product information for use across multiple channels and systems.
  • Develop clear and concise product launch proposals with clear assumptions on mix management versus BP and YTD metrics.
  • Develop effective relationships and processes, Production Planning and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with Supply team and Production Planning to ensure effective run–in and run–out strategies to minimise risk of orphaning stock and support effective communication to network.
  • Lead development of standardised processes, reports and governance relating to areas of responsibility, specifically derivative mix and profitability.
  • Contribute to the setting of the annual Marketing plan, including business plan input as required relating to the product planning, pricing, profitability and production planning / stock management.
  • Lead communication process for Field Staff on behalf of the marketing team.
  • Manage agency relationship. Identify areas needing cost reduction and programme improvement including management of all agency negotiations and contract development.
  • Management of Department budget, ensuring tight controls are in place. Work with your department's leadership team and finance department on budget creation, development and allocation.
  • Lead, develop and motivate team, supporting people development within and beyond team, acting as a role model and ensuring every individual is challenged to fulfil their potential.
  • Ensure all members have a clear Job Description, objectives, PDP and appraisal process.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level.
  • Highly numerate and PC literate. MS Office advanced (PPT/Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strategic focus with the ability to see the overall vision but also to drill down into the operational detail, with the ability to work cross functionally.
  • Self–starter, motivated, driven and with a desire to learn.
  • Demonstrate high energy and drive, and the capability to lead, coach, delegate and empower others.
  • Strong presentation skills
