Having gone through a phase of rapid growth (2015 to 2020) laying the foundations for an enhanced and much–changed entity, our client consolidated in 2021 with more controlled– and profitable growth. It has recently completed a major review of the way forward, culminating in a Long–Term Plan which confirms the Vision of the UK business to Work collaboratively to produce world class technical solutions that support a cleaner and safer planet.

The business is readying itself to deliver a Long Term Plan (a turnover of GBP40–60m by 2027) which involves a positive restructuring to provide the leadership, focus and energy needed whilst being supported by a strong back–office team, a Central Engineering Services Group (CES) and a Technology and Concept Studies Group (TACS).

As part of what will be a business defining restructure, one of the most critical positions is that of the Sales Director who will lead the development of strategic planning, partnerships, marketing and business acquisition as it is reshaped and re–enforced to meet the clear objectives of the LTP. This will be in parallel to working with the MD to provide the energy and leadership as the reshaped business takes shape and pushes on with the LTP. It is therefore a critical position and appointment.

As a Sales Director your responsibilities will include the following:

General

* Directly supporting the MD in shaping the business as it moves forward with the Long Term Plan

* To be part of the lead team and to work collaboratively and effectively with the other Board members in order to ensure a co–ordinated and visible leadership of the UK business.

* To manage all aspects of sales, account management, business winning and the development of strategic partnerships.

* To work with the UK MD, the France based MD and the CEO to develop an integrated European Sales approach / team for the key clients and opportunities.

* Developing and sustaining a team to deliver the LTP.

* Using KPI's to report, inform and support continuous improvement.

* To be responsible for ensuring exceptional client relationship management.

* To provide excellent communication to Clients and internal stakeholders across the wider Group.

* Ensure systems and practice to the highest standards of corporate compliance and governance.

* To work with the TACS Group to ensure that new business ventures and markets can be readily exploited through underpinned business cases.

* To maintain an energetic and engaging working environment focused on delivery and supported by effective process.

* Produce regular reports to inform the Directors of progress against operating plans, budgets and targets.

* Driving organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.

Added Requirements

* Significant experience in identifying, setting up and managing strategic partnerships both in country and cross continents.

* Significant experience in commercial negotiations on an international and strategic basic, with Board to Board experience an advantage.

* Developing and delivering major bids and negotiating mutually beneficial commercial models and results

* Developing complex business cases involving substantial CapEx requirements and then experience of presenting to Corporate Investment Committee's.

* Identifying acquisition targets that support the LTP.

To be successful as a Sales Director, you must have:

* Minimum 15 years of experience in management in a complex commercial and engineering construction project environments

* A track record of operating at Sales Director level

* Member of an Engineering or Management Institution

* Relevant Degree

* Dedicated operational management experience at a strategic and/or Board level

* Have a substantial network within nuclear industry

* International experience in a complex engineering and/or nuclear environment

* Passionate about change, developing teams and able to inspire those around you

* A second language such as French would be an advantage
