A global (Re)Insurance company is looking for a commercially aware and technically competent Finance Manager to join their London office. The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical accounting analysis to support commercial and business decisions largely related to a new product offering and delivery of the annual plan process. The primary areas of responsibility are:

  • Preparation and/or review of submissions for the annual five–year plan process, including analysis of plan outputs
  • Collaborating with the corporate actuarial and divisional FP&A to deliver the plan, including query resolution
  • Support the Europe Business Unit with technical accounting analyses to:
    • Optimise the new products that are being offered to clients whilst initiating transactions with clients.
    • Optimise risks and profitability from the new products offering by exploring some internal propositions
    • Aid business or commercial decision making or managing risks
  • Collaboration with cross–functional teams, strategic and commercial considerations, preparation and presentation of outputs for senior stakeholders (including Exco members) and positioning arguments with external auditors to get their buy–in.
  • Enabling successful implementation of changes to US GAAP, scheduled to become effective from 2025. You will be responsible for optimised delivery of internal and external reporting for the Business unit including:
    • Reviewing and challenging methodology decisions provided by central project team
    • Participating in business requirement testing for systems and processes
    • Testing systems to determine financial impacts
    • Implementation of any transitional methodologies
    • Implementing finance processes and controls in preparation for transition to BAU activities

This role requires an accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a few years post qualification experience gained in an insurance business or accountancy practice. The ability to communicate complex concepts and information across different disciplines and levels of seniority with the organisation will be paramount to succeeding in this role.
