Head of Non-Financial Risk

We are currently working exclusively with a well–established & successful UK based electronic trading platform who are currently setting up a new banking business to be based in Cardiff (hybrid working available). Reporting to the CRO the role of Head of Non–Financial Risk will provide expert support and advice to the business on the risk management framework. You will closely with the COO on the design and implementation of a tight control environment. Further responsibilities include???

• Develop and manage the Operational Risk Self–Assessment program
• Ensuring & verifying that all operational risk policies and procedures have been documented, implemented and communicated
• Providing advice to the business on improving the control environment
• Developing and management of the Operational Risk Self–Assessment Process and associated monitoring program
• Development and collation of Key Risk Indicators

The Company:

• An early stage new banking business with the financial and technological backing of a UK based electronic trading platform

The Person:

• c5 years of working in operational risk oversight or internal audit of a retail deposit taking business
• Demonstrable ability on how to apply an operational risk framework
• Ability to design tools and solutions to improve control procedures
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills
• Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and timescales
• Strong MS Office including advanced Excel
• Relevant professional qualification would be preferred (IRM, ICAetc.)

Salary:

GBP70k – GBP80k plus bonus, pension, 25 days, flexible working
