Head of Compliance and Risk
We are working with a well–known Automotive Finance company, supporting them in the search for a Head of Compliance and Risk. We are looking for a candidate to join them on a contract basis.
As their Head of Compliance and Risk you will be maintaining their Compliance and Risk function whilst being an expert advisor to the Board. You'll be joining the board regularly to update them on any foreseen business risks and key areas of change / improvements when necessary.
This newly created role will be leading and managing a team of 6 to deliver the core areas of Compliance and Risk across the Financial Services side of the business. As this is an FCA regulated environment, we are ideally looking for someone who is has obtained their SMF 16 or 17 accreditations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of ongoing regulatory change by developing and maintaining an effective horizon scanning process and provide impact analysis of such changes and ensure proactive communication with the business to develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes.
- Provide day–to–day advice to the business and guidance on technical compliance matters relating to FCA Compliance.
- Plan and deliver an annual Compliance Monitoring Plan for the business
- Act as the first contact point for the Financial Conduct Authority and ensure all annual and ad hoc regulatory reporting obligations are satisfied and completed by their due date.
- Design, implement and embed an operational risk and control framework across the business.
- Co–ordinate the production of regular, accurate and timely Management Information and chair the Risk and Compliance Committee.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong experience of compliance, risk, corporate governance and FCA regulatory rules and standards
- Be comfortable with digitalisation and have the ability to advise and present at board level
- A good people leader with strong relationship and communication skills
- Experience gained within regulated industry such as Financial services, Insurance, Banking or similar

Please note this is a Hybrid role, with a minimum of 50% of the working month to be spent at the office. Therefore, candidates need to ensure they are able to commute into Bracknell, Berkshire.
