Interim Solicitor

REED Legal is currently working with a public sector company in their search for an interim solicitor with 4–6 PQE to help them with asset management services. By working for a major provider of asset management, you would be required to provide advice on a broad range of financial/asset management and corporate services transactions.

This would be a fixed term role to cover maternity leave and is likely to last until May/June time. This role can consider hybrid working on a 3–2 basis and would be paying at around GBP70–80k pro rata. The office is based right next to the Wolverhampton train station.

The job role will include:

• Proving legal advice and assist the Senior Lawyer with legal advice to the business teams in respect of all asset classes managed by the company and the corporate structure
• Assisting the Senior Lawyer in setting policies and procedures that manage the legal impact of external factors
• Supporting the Legal Team by ensuring relevant internal policies and standards are complied with, managing, and providing oversight of legal impact of external factors/disputes relating to asset management services and operations
• Supporting in mentoring/coaching of the trainee solicitor;
• Supporting General Counsel in all aspects of work with a high degree of independence and autonomy
• Handling ad hoc queries from the business, supporting the deal teams, litigation and managing contentious issues.

The right person:

• Will be an UK Qualified Solicitor with 4–6 years' experience
• Will come from a regulatory, preferably financial services background and has previously dealt with asset management/ banking/ pensions
• Will preferably have in–house background
• Will have overall broad knowledge (corporate, financial, litigation, employment, ect)
• Could demonstrate some working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework (ideally for financial/asset management services) and proven experience of some of the following areas negotiating agreements, negotiating investment management agreements, advising on FCA applications, derivatives, collective investment schemes, private markets
