Financial Controller

Based: Trafford area

Salary: highly dependent on experience, bonus, enhanced pension, private healthcare, health cashplan and other benefits

Flexible hybrid working (office/home split) and flexible hours

15 month FTC with possible future opportunities due to business growth

Our client is a leading services & property business extremely well-known throughout the North West. Established over 50 years ago the business has grown dramatically over the last few years embarking on new business opportunities and diversifying further within their expertise. We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Financial Controller to join the team and take a financial lead for a rapidly expanding subsidiary within the group. This company is on track to triple turnover in the next 2 years so you must be adaptable to change and able to assist throughout this growth phase

Role will initially be on a 15 month contract but with the business growing and entering a large period of change, there could be strong opportunities for the future within this entity or the wider group

Role:
  • Providing support to the Finance Director, leading a small team of staff
  • Managing and supporting a team of 3 staff, reviewing work
  • Monthly management accounts, board reports, quarterly consolidations, statutory accounts and year end audit involvement
  • Establishing and improving financial processes across the division
  • Reviewing and assisting with weekly, monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts
  • Business Partnering with the operational team - budgets, re-forecasting and providing financial support to aid commercial decision making
  • Managing 2 bank facilities, compliance requirements and updating financial models
  • Reviewing and assisting with P&L forecasting and annual budgeting process
  • Attending divisional board meetings, presenting numbers and challenging
  • Reviewing and submitting VAT returns, liaising with HMRC as required
  • Management of financial system - improving and dealing with any issues
  • Assisting the FD and wider business on various projects

Experience:
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified essential
  • Experience within property/house-building highly desirable
  • Hands on, able to lead and support a team that is growing
  • Experience in a fast moving, high growth company desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and business partner at a senior level

This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller looking to work in a rapidly expanding and fast moving business. You must be on less than 8 weeks notice to be considered with an ideal start date in January 2022
