Solicitor Advocate / Barrister – An opportunity has arisen for a solicitor advocate or barrister to join a growing team offering counsel to fee earners as well as running their own caseload of court files. The work will consist of a mix of EL/PL and RTA fraud work. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to get involved in other areas of litigation as well as helping to improve the team's internal systems and processes.

• Previous Experience: Around 1 year + of advocacy experience either as a solicitor or Barrister. EL/PL or fraud experience would be useful. Candidates with other types of experience, with an interest in advocacy also encouraged to apply. For example, costs advocates who are looking for a new challenge are also encouraged to apply.

Our client is a leading 'top tier' insurance litigation firm who has a growing in–house advocacy team. The advocacy team undertakes advocacy and court work as well as providing advisory guidance on files for various practice groups within the firm.

The team is still relatively new, but has already achieved a firm footing within the wider insurance practice. It consists of Barristers and Solicitor Advocates who are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in advocacy.

The aim is to grow the department so that they take on the majority of advocacy work, without the requirement to instruct external counsel so much

Solid flow of work and chance to gain access to complex matters of commercial insurance and other areas of subrogated loss

At present, the main staple of the work consists of Motor Fraud work and EL/PL work as well as professional indemnity. The team is also already undertaking advocacy work for other teams in other areas of commercial insurance litigation and complex subrogated loss.

This in–house team is still developing and growing and therefore this is a fantastic time to join the team and develop your experience whilst also having the opportunity to develop specialisms as one might in Chambers.

The in–house advocacy team is structured in such a way as to allow advocates the freedom and flexibility to evolve as advocates with the safety and security of a steady flow of work.
