Strode College is a highly successful tertiary college located in Street, Somerset. Graded as 'Outstanding' in 2014, we have successfully maintained our high–quality academic provision and we are known locally and nationally for the value we add to our learners' lives and educational outcomes.
We have enjoyed phenomenal growth over the last few years, increasing our income from GBP12million to GBP17million through an ambitious diversification of our offer and an innovative expansion of our provision across a broad geographical footprint. We have been at the forefront of rolling out the new T Level qualifications and we are now one of the largest providers of traineeships nationally. Alongside this, we have been recognised for outstanding quality with an AoC Beacon Award 2020/21 and we were also finalists for the 'FE College of the Year' category at the TES FE Awards in 2020.
We are now seeking to appoint a new Director of HR and Organisational Development to play a key role in the next stage of our journey, leading and implementing a People Strategy that ensures staff realise their potential and deliver an outstanding experience for our learners. Reporting to the CEO and partnering with the Executive Team, the new postholder will create and drive HR policies and initiatives, build employee engagement in support of our strategic plan and champion a culture of aspiration and collaboration. Also of key importance will be harnessing the talents of our HR team and ensuring a high level of training, development and capability across the organisation.
Our successful postholder will have a proven track record in generalist HR with excellent knowledge of Employment Law. Experience in managing change and leading on successful HR initiatives will be key to your success, along with the ability to develop and get the best out of your team. You should also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate across a wide range of different audiences, alongside initiative, resilience and sound judgement.
