Ford & Stanley Executive Search are working exclusively with a Global Manufacturer in the Midlands in appointing a Head of Engineering, Methods & Test.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly into the General Manager and dotted lines into the Global c–suite the successful candidate will be running the full engineering department, supporting the shaping and strategy of the company as they seek diversify their product and client base and move into new industries.

Leading a team of 30 engineers the role offers a full 360 hands on remit to include customer engagement, people development, technical advisory, engineering, business strategy and innovation.

Considering a budget of GBP60–GBP65k we are likely to secure a candidate who is in a senior engineering capacity and ready to step up or an experienced individual who sees the real value in the opportunity and excited by the prospect of joining a new leadership team with ideas.

Summary and Impact


This role forms part of the Senior Management Team and oversees the flawless execution of the Engineering, Methods and Test Departments. Through proper analysis, planning and monitoring, this position ensures all Engineering, Method and Test operational practices and standards are appropriately achieved. The role ensures that compliance risks are effectively managed, and quality is maximized.

The Candidate

Essentials

  • Degree in a technical engineering discipline
  • Experience with electrical engineering
  • Strong leadership skills / management
  • Confident communicator
  • Big on culture of safety

Desirable

  • Experience in a manufacturing industry i.e. Aerospace, Automotive, Rail
  • Knowledge of 15085 welding standards
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge

Good to know:

  • The role does offer some flexible working
  • There is no movement above GBP65k on the base salary
