About the Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced finance professional to lead on all operational aspects of running our busy finance function. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Resources, you will lead the team in the provision of a high–quality customer focused service in each of the sub–sections of: Financial Reporting and Control; Income; Purchase Ledger and Payroll.
In this crucial role, the Assistant Director will be responsible for ensuring each sub–section is working to best practice and in line with all relevant guidance and legislation. This will require liaising with a range of colleagues from across the organisation and the wider Connexion of the Church.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career under the guidance of an experienced director. Should the postholder wish to develop their role, opportunities will exist to work closely with the Director on revising the Financial Strategy.
The provision of a high quality finance function is one way in which the Connexional Team supports the wider Methodist Church in its mission as described in 'Our Calling'.
About You
The post holder will have proven abilities in the management of all aspects of the finance function and good knowledge of relevant legislation. They will be an effective leader and understand how to get the best from the people in their team. They will have strong interpersonal skills that enable them to develop effective relationships outside the finance function. They will understand what success looks like from the perspective of the 'customer' and be able to implement strategies that deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. They will also be sympathetic to the ethos of the Methodist Church.
