Absolute Accountancy Recruitment are proud to be partnering with an ambitious SME professional services firm on their search for a Group Financial Controller. The company has an experienced CFO and plans to organically grow revenue by 50%+ over the next 2 years and eyeing up potential private equity investment in the next 2-3 years, it’s a very good time to join this growing business as you will also get involved in potential growth investment and acquisitions.

The role will lead the finance function, overseeing all reporting for multiple offices (UK & Internationally) as well as managing a small finance team. In addition, you will be reviewing their current processes and internal controls and ensuring they are adequate as the business grows and helping to get the best out of their newly implemented system. They are looking for a hands on Financial Controller, with prior experience within a Professional Services firm (and SME environment).

Responsibilities
  • Day to day management of the finance team (currently 3) and liaising with overseas offices. The role will also involve recruiting and development of future team members
  • Taking a lead on reviewing and developing the internal controls and processes, ensuring they are suitable as the business grows
  • Reviewing the newly implemented accounting system and time billing system, ensuring the company is getting the best use out of the systems functions
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts Packs (for UK, US EMEA) plus consolidated accounts
  • Preparation of Group Annual Budgets/Forecasts and assisting the CFO with business plans
  • Preparation of the annual statutory accounts/management of the audit process for UK and overseas entities
  • VAT/Sales Tax returns/submission
  • Cash management for the Group, ensuring there are always sufficient funds within the business
Qualifications / Experience
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required
  • Previous experience within a Professional Services business/Project Management
  • Good knowledge of fee earner / time billing is desirable
  • Group consolidation experience
  • Multiple jurisdictional accounting experience (US/EMEA/APAC desirable)
  • Previous experience using a time billing system is desirable
  • Prior experience working within an SME environment
  • Experience within a PE backed business would be advantageous but not essential
Package includes;
  • Salary up to £85,000 per annum
  • Annual bonus between 10-12%
  • Up to 10% employer pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays off
  • Flexibility to work from home 3-4 days per week
This will be a 2 stage interview process;
  • 1st interview will be with the CFO – via Zoom/Teams
  • 2nd interview will be with the CEO – in their London office
