Overview

We are looking for a professional lead (Head of Procurement) who will work alongside the Group Director Commercial Services and Senior Leadership Team as the Head of Procurement leading on procurement delivery, contracting and Supplier Management.

As the Head of Procurement, you will lead on the Transformation of procurement across the organisation by developing and implementing a progressive procurement strategy.

You will have strong relationship and persuasive communication skills, acting as a conduit between Commercial Services, commissioning, and the public sector, directing and influencing decision makers, synergising, and consolidating the activity of departments and eliminating inefficiencies enhancing strategic priorities.

You will lead and grow the Procurement Delivery team to maximise the outcomes of the service, instilling a culture of continuous improvement, learning and development. You will support the team in solving organisational problems to drive performance improvement and innovation.

As the Head of Procurement, you will use your previous experience in achieving enhanced value for money, social value, and sustainable supplier relationships to ensure that category, procurement, supplier and contract strategies put communities first and ensure that people are provided with high–quality opportunities. You will be pivotal to delivering a focus on building community wealth through procurement opportunities to reorganise and control the local economy.

As a procurement professional with extensive knowledge of designing and adopting progressive procurement practices, implementing strategic commercial and procurement strategies and best practice, we would like to receive your application.

• Ensure the development and implementation of purchasing controls, procedures and processes in line with Company procedures
• Conduct contract reviews to manage performance of key suppliers and instigate corrective actions as appropriate
• Develop and manage a set of Key Performance Indicators for the procurement function for internal reporting on business performance and external customer reporting
• Represent Supply Chain & Procurement as part of the management team, working closely with other business areas to ensure effective business performance
• Working with the Senior Management Team, develop and grow the services business in line with the business plan targets, advising the board on areas of growth and service improvement initiatives
• Provide support to the Senior Management Team as required
