SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.
We are currently looking to recruit a Branch Operations Director for our flagship site in Trafford Park in Manchester, to join our thriving business and lead the optimisation of our logistics operations.
What does the role involve?
As Branch Operations Director, you will be responsible for the day to day management of site operations, leading both the transport and warehouse teams to ensure On Time In Full delivery (OTIF) within a sustained continuous improvement environment, delivering process–led excellence for the branch and driving ongoing efficiencies with a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers.
You'll ensure the Operations department is legally compliant and adheres to all Company Health, Safety and Environment Procedures and Standards, promoting a Zero Harm culture whilst promoting team building and cross–functional working.
The successful candidate will require:
• Great people management skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
• Experienced Operations leader with a proven track record of operational excellence in managing warehouse and transport operations within a distribution environment
• Strong communication skills, in addition, you will lead from the front achieving set KPI's and driving positive change
• Strong Health & Safety focus with IOSH or NEBOSH certificate level qualification
• The ability to handle pressure and maintain a level of calm in difficult situations, with a 'hands–on' approach and 'can do' attitude
