A market leading designer and developer of advanced sensor technologies is now looking for an Engineering Director.

Now is an exciting time to join our client in this new role as Engineering Director, where you will be responsible for the R&D Engineering Team creating a world class and meritocratic capability to meet the business' growing needs. In addition, you will be leading the development of core technologies, R&D competences and processes and drive their evolution to address the needs of current and future marketplaces to deliver growth and value.

You will be a key member of the Board providing technical leadership and working with peers, be actively involved in business development activities associated with positioning the company in new as well as existing markets and developing collaboration opportunities.

Providing strategic support to the CEO and Board in ensuring that they focus on the right projects, you should be a true technology team leader, with experience in new product development.

We are looking for an effective communicator, a team leader, and an expert in technology development, possessing a proven track record of creativity, innovation, team leadership and successful agile delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

As the successful Engineering Director, you will have a proven track record, ideally 10 years or more, in senior level technical leadership roles. This should include Board level roles, growing engineering businesses where product innovation and development are key.

You will have experience leading and inspiring teams of multi–disciplined engineers, technology, R&D, commercialisation, business development and strategy.

Ideally you will have technical experience in some of the following areas: Electro–magnetic design; Control/sensing algorithms; Mechatronics; Embedded software; AI.

You will have achieved at least a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical or similar discipline.
