Macmillan Davies are looking to attract a Head of HR on behalf of a high growth engineering business based in Solihull.
About the role
With enviable organic growth the organisation are now looking to bring in a suitably qualified Head of HR to define and implement the people strategy as the company continues on its impressive trajectory of planned expansion.
This is an exciting time to join the business as there is a real opportunity to make the role your own, influence and work with the senior leadership team and embed new ideas to support the expansion and growth.
Reporting to the Managing Director the Head of HR will be expected to:
*Partner with the senior management team and Regional Directors to understand the whole business and advise on all people matters
*Develop and execute the HR strategy including employee relations, performance management, employee experience, learning and development, compensation and benefits, legal compliance through to talent acquisition
*Strive to ensure a positive, professional and inclusive culture and place to work
*Champion employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives making it a great place to work
*Ensure there is effective talent management and succession planning
*Introduce and update policies and ensure they're rolled out and communicated effectively
*Maintain the culture as the business grows, embedding new initiatives to support the expansion
*Maintain the current reward strategy to attract and retain great people and make recommendations to improve where necessary
*Analyse data and metrics and create relevant reports for the board
*Enhance management capability and ensure managers feel supported to make the right people decisions
*Foster strong employee relations and provide a flexible approach to a proven workforce
*Lead coach and develop a small HR team
About you
If you've worked in a rapid growth business previously and can demonstrate you've moved the HR function from being operational and functioning to adding significant value, influencing senior leaders, championing culture and engagement and contributing to the success of the business then this could be an ideal role to step into. You'll be able to coach and mentor senior managers and you'll have a real business partnering style where you can tailor your style and approach to any audience, offering credible and commercially sound people advice. You will need to be a people person, used to working in a growing SME business (ideally with a blue collar workforce) and be able to take on board differing viewpoints and come up with creative solutions to further improve business success. Occasional travel in and around the midlands will be required.
