WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR
They are continuing to grow rapidly and to support the next stage of our company expansion plans, we require a Public Sector Business Development Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious public sector focused sales individual to join as they will play a pivotal role in our next growth phase.
You will have a minimum of 5 years successful public sector business development experience within IT/Telecommunications sales, or a similar industry. You will work closely with the leadership team in determining the business development strategy for the sector and will be responsible for driving sales growth in the public sector vertical.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
Grow the business via net new clients in the Public Sector.
Assist with marketing strategies to the public sector vertical
Meet or exceed revenue targets as set and agreed with the Sales Director
Lead Generation and management of your pipeline funnel
Ensure Sales CRM is current & kept up to date
Lead on RFI / RFP response / pitch process through qualification, win strategy definition and engagement of appropriate resources.
Participate in relevant industry events
Prospecting public sector customers in both Scotland and England
EXPERIENCE
5 Years minimum experience of successfully selling to the public sector
To proactivity take ownership of your own business area
The ability to build rapport quickly with both internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and build relationships at senior levels of the customer/prospect organisation
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong commercial acumen and business understanding enabling achievement of profitable growth and retention results
Significant industry experience in IT/Telecommunications, managed and professional services businesses
Familiarity with public sector procurement process.
Existing network of public sector contacts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
