A brand new opportunity has become available within Midlothian, Edinburgh. Our client is a forward thinking reputable company within their sector and are growing exponentially. They are actively looking for a Financial Controller to join their finance department. This is a very hands on role where you will be fully involved within the finance decisions and the day to day running of the finance department.
The key duties that will be involved in this role will include but are not limited to:
* Managing budgets and current forecasts
* Processing VAT returns
* Purchase, sale and nominal ledger control and management with the achievement of a fully digital workflow and process
* Bank reconciliations of transactions and banking control
* Month end reconciliations
* Preparing monthly accounts
* Monthly transactions including pension payments and HMRC
* Implementing a goal of transitioning payroll in–house to weekly and monthly transactions
The key requirements for this financial controller position include the following:
* An active member of a recognised accounting body or working towards a qualification
* A minimum of 3 years relevant experience similar to above
* Robust communication, organisational and IT skills
* Strong team–player attitude, with the ability to be pro–active and maintaining a positive attitude
* A good understanding of forecasting, report writing and data analysis
* Great communication skills with the ability to present data effectively to a number of different stakeholders
* Ability to be proactive and take ownership of accounting routines and activities
This is a full–time position where all hours will be carried out within the office. The right individual will become an active and valuable asset to the clients growing finance team.
This full–time position will be carried out Monday to Friday
