Responsibilities
??? In conjunction with the senior leadership team, develop and then implement the long term Sales strategy (focusing on key account management and business growth across international territories) and implement the sales action plan required to deliver this plan.
??? Deliver sales targets for volume, price and contribution with individual key customer account responsibility.
??? Direct management of the company's key accounts selling to international chemical groups across the globe.
??? Leading the business development initiatives and working close to the market to deliver growth objectives.
??? Monitor and report monthly upon the Sales performance for key accounts and new customers against budget (volumes and margin) – and detail specific customer, competitor, and overall market activities to allow future development of key account/customer plans and objective setting.
??? Develop and implement a robust marketing and communication strategy to deliver growth plans and support the sales efforts.
??? Oversee Debtor performance to ensure the business remains best in class on overdue and bad debts.
??? Manage the submission of the monthly sales forecast for key accounts and new customers to optimise stock holding / control – and in turn assist planning in the optimisation of plant production scheduling.
??? Drive the investigation of customer complaints internally and complete sign–off/approval with the customer within the allotted time period as defined by the business.
??? Work closely with the R&D and application development teams to ensure technical projects are aligned with customer needs
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
??? Ideally educated to degree level with minimum 10 years in a manufacturer of speciality chemicals, polymer, adhesive, coatings or similar formulation chemistry environment.
??? Significant business and marketing experience in an international sales leadership role.
??? Enjoys being close to the customer and sales process.
??? High energy levels and degree of intellect to challenge and promote business development.
??? Experience of developing, leading and overseeing business growth.
??? Highly credible; used to the complexity of selling effectively to large corporate chemical groups engaging with professional purchasing teams and also able to connect with SMEs where a different style is required.
??? Strong commercial acumen selling technical solutions and full understanding of the value proposition.
??? Wide people leadership skill set able to present ideas to internally and externally to get buy–in. Persuasive, strong networker and influential communication style.
??? Proven record of success in contract, credit management, sales optimisation and business improvement.
??? Strong business sense with strategic thinking.
??? Understanding business context, analytical skills.
??? Excellent interpersonal skills, Relationship building.
