The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reporting to business strategies and works to improve the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance. Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams to support their decision making on current and future plans through the delivery of insight and challenge into the efficacy of spend decisions, utilising commercial acumen in addition to technical and financial analytical ability.

The role is an integral part of a team of twelve which aims to provide quality information and a compliant service to support strategic decision making and builds a solid foundation for an evolving organisation. The successful postholder fosters a culture of collaboration, transparency, service, and expertise

Role responsibilities

To build a motivated and high performing Business Partner team, that consistently delivers accurate, timely and insightful Management Information for the Senior Leadership Group and Trustees for the purpose of decision making.
Oversee the Finance and Public Engagement partnership and reporting framework. This includes compliant, accurate and timely reporting on restricted, designated, and unrestricted funds.
The development and implementation of integrated reporting across the organisation via Strategic Board. This includes working with the Strategy team to develop objectives and key results and financial monitoring against strategic aims.
To work with the Finance Operations Manager to optimise the integrity and functionality of the Finance System (XLedger).
Responsible for the annual finance cycle including submitting the budget for the approval and sign off by the Board of Trustees and to develop, implement and produce a rolling budget and forecasting process aligned to the Trust's strategy.

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CiPFA or equivalent formal qualification).
Commercial acumen & strong negotiating skills.
Demonstrate ability of managing complex projects in a fast–paced environment.
Confidence in team planning, leadership and people management and decision making.
