Margaret Green Animal Rescue (MGAR) is the largest Dorset based Animal Welfare Charity operating two animal rescue centres in Dorset and one in Devon; along with a network of six retail charity shops in Dorset.
The principle activities of the charity are:
the rescue and rehoming of animals; and
the provision of life long care to retired, bequeathed and long term resident animals.
Income to continue the work of the charity comes from adoptions, donations, legacies, investments, commercial boarding of dogs and cats, and the retail shops.
The Charity is looking for a new CEO to provide strategic, financial and operational leadership. The successful candidate will oversee a team of managers and will be supported by and report to the Board of Trustees.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
leadership experience;
commercial awareness;
financial acumen;
the ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities;
excellent communication skills; and
a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Given that the day to day operational management of animal centres, estates, marketing & fundraising, administration and charity shops are delegated to the established management team, charity and animal welfare experience are not a pre–requisite, as mentoring in those areas can be arranged. A love of animals is essential!
The role is primarily based in the Church Knowle Centre in Dorset but travel to the other centres and the shops is essential to fulfil the role.
We encourage applications from all backgrounds and are committed to having an organisation that is made up of diverse skills, experiences and abilities.
