We are currently seeking an experienced Managing Director to join a well–established, forward thinking/innovative family–run SME based in Stafford. As a Managing Director you will direct and manage the organisation's day to day business activities and develop and implement effective business strategies and programmes. You will also motivate and inspire both senior leadership and wider company teams to deliver the board's business growth and profitability aspirations.

We are looking for a candidate who will demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and vision when directing business functions to motivate staff and increase staff productivity whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to generate new business.

Requirements

* For 2022 the Managing Director must deliver: 1. the plan (budget) and 2. the company goals set by the Board

* Lead, challenge and develop the Senior Leadership Team

* Ensure a positive productive culture across the business

* Own and drive the vision and Strategy (which will be set by the Shareholders)

* Strive to Ensure that the business is legally compliant in all areas; raising awareness of any perceived shortfall, mitigating the risk in non–compliance and putting plans in place to recover

* Deliver growth and profitability targets

* Ensure excellent customer satisfaction, including senior level client engagement as needed

* Budgeting, resourcing (people and supply chain), and managing operational costs

* Formulate and implement company policies in agreement with the board

* Deliver day to day operations

* Motivate and develop staff

* Deliver and demonstrate measured continuous process improvements

In order to be considered for this role, you must hold the below personal skills/attributes:

* Previous experience driving/leading a growing and successful SME business at director level

* Strong leadership qualities supported by excellent communication skills and an ability to motivate others at all levels of the company

* Self–motivated and results driven

* Excellent commercial acumen

* Great interpersonal skills and an active listener

* Meticulous attention to detail

* Financially astute

* Sound budgeting skills

* Proactive, analytical and a good problem solver

* Strong work ethic, highly organised and computer literate

* Previous European/global experience would be highly desirable

* Previous Operational/engineering experience would be very beneficial

Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:30
