DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We are looking for a deeply skilled leader in Business Analysis and Enterprise Analysis to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

We're driving a once–in–a–generation transformation of government services, using fresh ideas and leading–edge technologies to create innovative, scalable and user–centric digital solutions.

Our products and services combine to generate one of the largest IT footprints in Europe. We're transforming IT systems some of which were initially built nearly 40 years ago, and migrating millions of cases across more than 90 policy lines onto new digital services.

The DWP products and services we maintain and modernise are used by 23 million unique users every year and will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives.

This is a new cross–cutting role for us, and you'll work in the space between architecture and analysis to shape this unique landscape, enabling seriously complex organisational change. You'll occupy and develop the logical layer between Business Analysts in our delivery teams and DWP's overarching strategic goals to make sure we're aligned, efficient and effective.

Delivery. Work. Projects.

You'll have chance to build your role, and define what Enterprise Analysis means in DWP and across government. You will lead on elicitation of enterprise requirements and for investigation and implementation of changes to the scope of programmes and projects.

You'll deliver a mixture of collaborative working, consulting and coaching to better equip our business analysis teams to be strategic and big picture aware.

You'll work with the Executive Team and interpret their strategic intent, and develop and elevated end–to–end view across DWP

You'll collaborate with business architecture experts, using their resources alongside your own models and analysis to create recommendations.

You'll be an advocate for the value of the business analysis profession, working at the most senior level to ensure the right skills are present within DWP's multi–disciplinary teams, with a specific focus on cross–cutting and enterprise related skills and activities.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experienced in identifying and building relationships at all levels of the organisation.

  • Can negotiate and influence at a senior level on issues, development and enhancement of services, products & systems.

  • Experienced in leading business analyst teams in complex organisations.

  • Experienced in communicating recommendations persuasively to key stakeholders.

  • A strong background in Business Analysis

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work flexibly. We offer hybrid work, with some time at home and some in the office, and many of us are working remotely at the moment due to COVID–19.

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to GBP72,933, brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 27.9%, and a generous leave package starting at 26 days.

We also have a broad benefits package built around your work–life balance which includes:

  • Flexible working, flexi hours and up the 3 flexi days off a month
  • Hybrid working: some time in a hub with the team, some time at home
  • Family–friendly policies
  • Time off volunteering and charitable giving
  • Bring your authentic self to work with 'I Can Be Me in DWP'
  • Discounts and savings on shopping, fun days out and more
  • Interest–free loans to buy a bike or a season ticket, so it's even easier for you to get to work and start making a difference
  • Sports and social activities
  • Working in an award–winning environment and culture
  • Professional development, coaching, mentoring and career progression opportunities.
