Commercial Finance Consultant

Interim Finance Opportunity | Commercial Finance Consultant | 6 Month project | Outside IR35

Axon Moore are currently working with a successful business undergoing a major Transformation and in the midst of several high-profile projects. They are looking for a Commercial Finance Consultant to assist with managing the MI for a high-profile digital transformation role.

This role will work with the Project Manager, Finance and Procurement to fully understand the extent of exposure on budgets and supply contracts, and identify any further financial risks associated with the project. Your remit will be to interrogate the MI and look at the level of detail provided and liaising with the finance and procurement teams to analyse and understand budgets and spending, contractual commitments, future spend and associated risks and opportunities.

Duties:
• Understand the detailed, itemised “cost card” of everything that needs to be delivered on every unit
• Work with Finance to understand cost per unit.
• Understand the contracts that underpin these, the prices and risks within these.
• Identify everything that has been purchased to date from these that is either on site already or yet to be fitted
• Identify everything that has been procured so far and contracted but not yet purchased, including prices and risks.
• Identify the gaps between these and the total requirement – identifying any exposure.
• Cost all of the above up for comparison with budget.
• Understand the production plan and phase out the remaining spending and draw down of equipment/ when further equipment may need to be ordered.
• Support contract management – monitor and manage changes and validate payments.
• Work with the Project Manager to identify what orders have been supplied.
• Assurance of documentation process – bills of materials, scheduling materials to bring to site, items that are going onto the units.

Person Specification:
• Qualified Accountant
• Experience of working on high profile projects
• Procurement background is advantageous but not essential
• Sap knowledge is advantageous
• Strong intermediate to advance excel
• Available to interview immediately / start at a weeks’ notice.
