A new opportunity has arisen to work for a large NHS organisation in the South West of England who are seeking to appoint a Deputy Chief Nurse.

This is an interim post for initially 3–6 months with a competitive rate.

The post holder must have extensive experience working within the NHS at a senior level and have expertise within Clinical Governance, covering Quality and Risk Management.

Main Responsibilities:

Supporting the Chief Nurse to ensure professional leadership and oversight to the quality governance agenda and the relevant teams which support it;
To lead on the delivery of high–quality patient care across all nursing and midwifery teams and services within the Trust;
Leading on strategic projects as required;
Work in partnership with Heads of Nursing and Director of Midwifery to ensure a safe and appropriate nursing skill mix across wards and departments;
Responsible for issues outside immediate sphere of responsibility as required by the Chief Nurse;
Provide good governance and implement standards to achieve CQC ratings, devising Quality improvement action plans;
Deputise for the Chief Nurse in all areas of the role as and when required.
A successful candidate will have:

Current NMC registration with active pin;
Experience at working at a senior management level within the NHS;
An understanding of management of change/quality improvement within a large complex organisation;
Significant experience of producing strategy documents and board reports;
Experienced within and leading on the Clinical Governance agenda;
Experience of working within an Acute setting.
