Interim Senior Financial Reporting Consultant

Yorkshire (Fully Remote or Hybrid Working)

£500 - £700 per day (Inside IR35)

Join this impressive global business who are looking to bring on board an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Consultant to lead the Financial Accounting team & provide technical expertise to the business.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ownership of financial statements for inclusion in Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Financial Report
  • Ownership of monthly internal financial statements to support Board and senior management reporting, including review and challenge of accounting postings, investigation of variances to forecasts and provision of insight to inform commentary
  • Work with outsource providers to ensure accurate and timely corporation tax and VAT payments and submission of tax returns
  • Main point of contact for external auditors, providing data and information as requested and resolve issues as they arise, escalating matters as appropriate
  • Support the Financial Reporting Lead in provision of reports and training to Audit Committee and other committees and working groups
  • Share relevant accounting information with non-Finance colleagues in a clear and understandable way, including delivering training where required
  • Provide cover for other members of the Financial Reporting team in their absence
  • Provide support to business-wide project activity so that accounting impacts and requirements are understood
  • Manage and develop Trainee Financial Reporting Accountant in line with business practices (1:1's / appraisals / performance development plans / succession planning)
  • Maintenance of proper documentation for all relevant processes to ensure risks to the business is minimised.
  • Drive continuous review of current procedures to identify process improvements and efficiency's and work collaboratively to implement these.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory rules and guidance applicable to the role.



Skills and experience:
  • ACA /ACCA qualified
  • Some audit experience preferable with excellent technical accounting skills
  • Proven experience of being able to manage and develop a large team, focused on employee development and enabling others to reach their full potential, motivating and inspiring others to achieve
  • Flexible, able to consistently meet deadlines and consistently motivated and focused on delivery
  • Provides appropriate solutions to problems, with proven experience of decision making
  • Appreciates an excellent control environment and consistently aims for improvement
  • Proactive and able to work on initiative
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships quickly and effectively with colleagues
