Robertson Bell are working with a Government organisation, to recruit an Interim Procurement Business Partner, on a fully remote working contract up until the end of March 2022, with potential to extend beyond this point.

The Interim Procurement Business Partner will work across a range of areas including IT, Professional Services and Consultancy – managing statutory and regulatory compliance, governance and providing best practice advice.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the procurement primary point of contact, partnering senior leaders within the assigned business area – ensuring they are receiving effective strategic procurement support and proactive advise spanning the complete lifecycle in all business decisions and future commercial outlook
  • Apply category management and supply market information to develop new sustainable sourcing strategies that reflect business priorities and inform contract negotiation and management
  • Identify, develop and implement new, alternative and innovative solutions on line with business change
  • Design, implement and ensure full assurance in respect of contract management and risk assessment handovers to the business – including ownership of any dispute resolution requirements
  • Take full responsibility for negotiating complex requests and analysing the market and identifying opportunities to achieve value for money

Essential and Desirable Criteria

  • Professional Membership/Experience: MCIPS [Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply] with extensive business awareness gained from significant experience of related work from either private or public sector
  • Procurement Legislation: In–depth breadth of specialised knowledge of Public Procurement directives, principles and UK specific legislation
  • Leadership: Ability to influence multi–functional teams in developing and delivering the most appropriate procurement strategies and solutions – foster a collaborative team approach
  • Supplier Relationship and Contract Management: comprehensive understanding and experience of managing suppliers including supplier development, benchmarking, role of drivers of costs in the supply chain, understanding of sub–contract markets, service levels and supplier relationship management

This role has been deemed to fall inside of IR35 and will be paid through an umbrella company.
