Interim Senior Procurement Manager
Day Rate: GBP400 – GBP500 dependent on experience
Working arrangements: Homeworking and office working (1–2 days per week)
Location: Southampton
Hours: Full–Time
Length of assignment: 2–3 months (with opportunity to extend)
Start date: 8th or the 15th November

The Position
This role is a senior Procurement | Category Lead for the Laboratory and Research Category Team. Responsible for procuring scientific and technical equipment which is mainly funded by research money. Items could range from an MRI Scanner or a large piece of scientific equipment to winches or tanks, even a boat.
The Category Expert will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on legislation and regulations which will involve considerable liaison with stakeholders including a wide range of academics.
The role will involve working to tight deadlines as money can be withdrawn if not spent within a certain timescale.
Experience and Skills required
The successful person will be responsible for tenders where an extensive knowledge of public sector procurement processes and regulations will be essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage different and sometimes challenging stakeholders.
Experience in procuring one–off goods will be an advantage.
MCIPS Qualification will be desirable.
