City and Islington College is one of the largest Further Education colleges in London and is part of Capital City College Group. Our diverse student body of around 14,000 learners' study on our acclaimed vocational and academic courses that are heralded by employers.

Our Sixth Form centre offers 35 A Level subjects, one of the largest choices in the UK, providing high level academic study for around 1800 students wishing to progress to university.
We are recruiting a Deputy Director for our Sixth Form College in Angel to play a key part in the strategic and operational management, development, and performance of Sixth Form College operations, with a particular focus on high quality A Level provision and outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment. This is a Senior Management role within the Leadership Team that also acts as a designated Deputy for the Assistant Principal of the campus.
This role will give you the opportunity to strategically lead all aspects of A Level curriculum delivery and academic rigour, in addition to contributing to the day to day operational management of the College. You will implement the College's quality improvement strategies, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, and promoting and embedding new technologies and other innovative practices in learning. You will also provide leadership for pastoral and safeguarding care of all learners, and for Curriculum Leaders to achieve consistently high outcomes in courses leading to positive student destinations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive teaching and quality assurance experience (especially with A Level study programmes), you will have previously led on change/curriculum innovation, especially in relation to A Level provision. Able to inspire and motivate students and staff, you will also be an experienced manager of A Level curriculum teams, with a track record of developing teams to plan and deliver an excellent learning experience.
