Manchester United is seeking to hire a Head of Programme Management who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a high–priority strategic plan to drive long–term growth and change across Manchester United's commercial business areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Set Up of the Transformation Programme
Support the Business Transformation Director and Executive Team in defining the overall Club vision and business transformation strategy
Develop, establish and own the framework and toolset to translate initiatives into a programme of projects and measures
Drive the consolidation of individual initiatives into an overall operative programme (timing, deliverables, resource needs, key strategic staging posts)
Control, report and manage the progress of the overall programme and adjust plan if required
Day–to–day management of and collaboration with the wider change team; setting goals, objectives and priorities of the team
Support in Planning, Development and Sequencing of Strategic Priorities
Support the initiative owners in further developing the strategic priorities
Identify those strategic priorities which will deliver growth and lasting change across the business
Support the Director of Business Transformation and other Heads of Department in the prioritisation and sequencing of projects and strategies
Implement frameworks to prioritise changes and ensure focus aligns with strategy
Work closely with the Director of Business Transformation to ensure that the senior leadership team are working towards and measured against the plan
Support –where required– in the planning and execution of programmes and projects to deliver on strategy
Support finance in consideration of the programme in the annual budget planning process
Support in Process Optimisation
Review existing cross–functional processes (meetings, reporting, interactions, challenges, decision making etc.) to develop optimisation levers and increase efficiency / results
Monitoring, Reporting and Enablement
Engage with wider forums in the organisation to ensure alignment of strategic priorities e.g. CSM, ExCo, RiskCo, etc.
Support the development of materials and effective project reporting to Club leadership and for key meetings
Conduct regular meetings with initiative owners and project managers
Challenge content and quality of deliverables
Prepare regular management reports to the business and the Executive Committee
Work with the business to mobilise, enable and oversee delivery of the programme
Identify potential implementation risks and initiate escalation mechanism if necessary
Provide policies, tools and best practice coaching to the people in the organisation responsible for the implementation of the projects
Communication
Work with the Director of Business Transformation and the internal communications team to devise story boards to articulate the strategy to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Establish a clear and cohesive, yet distinct communication framework
Suitable candidates will have experience working at Senior PMO Manager / Head of PMO level within a large, complex business. This role will require someone who is able to be hands on when required but also think about the context of strategic programmes of work and how these will impact the overall business strategy.
The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant experience and the level of responsibility undertaken in the post. Benefits included with this role also include a car allowance and bonus potential
