Together with people affected by dementia, we are a force for change – using research and influencing to push for breakthroughs that will help people keep control of their lives.We are looking for a Head of Media to join our Marketing and Communications Directorate at an important time in terms of tackling the challenge of dementia, and helping influence the future of social care. The directorate is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Alzheimer's Society's marketing and communications functions to build emotional engagement and impact among our external audiences, and to champion the needs of people affected by dementia. We use our media, marketing, brand, audience insights and content work to increase awareness and understanding of dementia, and the support and information we provide. We support our influencing, fundraising and research strategies, as well as raising the profile of Alzheimer's Society.Head of Media Responsibilities:As a leader you will drive forward an inclusive, collaborative, high–performance environment, making sure that our values and expected standards of behaviour are embedded across the organisation, starting with your own team.Reporting to the Associate Director of External Relations and Media, you will be responsible for leading the Society's media function and development of media strategies and campaigns. You will play a key role in positioning Alzheimer's Society as the leading dementia charity in the UK and ensure that dementia and social care reform remain a public and political health priority. You will support the Director of Marketing and Communications and Associate Director of External Relations and Media in the development and implementation of an integrated organisation–wide marketing and communications strategy to improve the lives of people affected by dementia .You will collaborate with directors and senior managers in preparing for and supporting the brand re–fresh for the Alzheimer's Society, and other such significant Society–wide projects.Head of Media Requirements:You'll be a first–class people manager able to inspire, coach and unite people towards a common goal.
