Chief Accountant

Churchill Howard is currently recruiting technically strong Chief Accountant / Financial Reporting Manager to join an instantly recognisable business in Oxfordshire easily commutable from Oxfordhsire, Warwickshire & Worcestershire.
The principal scope of the role is to ensure that all reporting for the business is in line with current accounting standards. Achieving this requires someone who not only has the technical knowledge, but who can also build networks and partner with the business to ensure full understanding and compliance across all reporting.

The Chief Accountant take responsibility for:
* Leading on current and future IFRS accounting changes to ensure successful implementations
* Identifying opportunities to develop and enhance existing reporting processes
* Participate in projects to develop reporting tools and improve controls
* Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical reporting issues
* Support on the preparation of consolidated period end reporting
* Work with external auditors to ensure the quality and compliance of all reporting

The person:
Due to the technical nature of the role, to be successful, you will need up–to–date knowledge of IFRS so this will suit an experienced manager or senior manager from top 6 practice looking to move into industry. Equally, you may already have moved into industry, be operating in a technical reporting role and looking for a progressive move.

Either way, you will need to demonstrate:
* Leadership and management experience
* A track record in process and controls improvement
* Strong technical expertise, including relevant working knowledge of IFRS
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to partner effectively with the business
