Head of Sales
RattrayParkin is currently supporting the recruitment requirments of a high growth, privately owned logistics business which is seeking to recruit a high calibre Head of Sales to take a key position within their senior management team. This highly impressive business operated nationally and is well positioned for continued growth moving forward with a well–established reliability and quality of service.
My client is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated, Senior Business Develop Manager to support the next phase of our growth plans. This is a newly created role with a focussed approach to developing high value new business opportunities to the business in achieving its long–term business growth objectives.
The position will suit an established professional with a proven record of growing sales revenue in a challenging and competitive environment.
Key aspects of the role:
- Responsibility for delivering a pure growth portfolio of high value new business by actively identifying, developing, and acquiring, new customer opportunities within the market.
- Position the businesses product portfolio at a high level alongside proposing the right commercial model that will maximise revenue and meet customer requirements.
- Responsibility for, and support the proactive development of, strategic relationships with existing customers to enhance revenue.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders within the wider business, including, Finance, Customer Service, IT, and Operations.
- Day–to–day management of the Sales team, setting objectives, managing targets, measuring performance, and implementing improvement plans.
- Implement sales strategy to achieve targets for new customer growth, growth of existing customer revenue streams, price increases, and customer retention.
- Assist with the development and implementation of commercial pricing models that ensure customer account profitability is fully understood before signing off.
- Produce relevant and timely management reporting ensuring that opportunities and risks are clearly identified, and action plans designed to suit.
- Generate, appraise, and recommend, new business opportunities for presentation to the Chairman, Managing Director, and Commercial Director.
Key competencies:
- Experienced professional with a strong understand of sales and business development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role where focus was on customer retention as much as new business growth.
- Excellent prospecting, networking, persuasion, negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (including presentations).
- High level of computer literacy, including word–processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, and the Internet.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Highly numerate individual with the ability to analyse data.
- Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels in a wide range of organisations.

- Competitive base salary up to GBP60k plus OTE up to 30%.
